Mensched!
In what can only be described as a moment of political self-flagellation I followed Louise Mensch on Twitter over the weekend to witness the twitter-storm that she was at the centre of over UK Uncut’s protest outside Nick Clegg’s house.
Mensch accused UK Uncut of ‘bullying’ and ‘thuggish’ behaviour, yet it appears that the ‘party’ passed without violent incident or arrest.
Indeed UK Uncut were obviously mimicking the sort of jubilee celebrations that will shortly take place all over the UK and no doubt will be presented as uncontroversial and non-threatening.
Mensch’s outrage at what was in truth a fairly benign and ineffective form of protest suggests one of two things: either our political class have become so cosseted and arrogant that any encounter with public opposition is viewed as an affront to their apparent God-given right to do what they like, or Louise Mensch is a publicity seeking, political troll seeking government office.

Maybe Louise Mensch is the new Edwina Currie?
